Insurance Need a Referral.

Humana insurance plans require a valid referral from your
primary doctor before your appointment.

Vision Insurance vs Medical Insurance

Many visits at our office involve medical eye care, not just a routine vision check. Our doctors evaluate the health of your eyes and may monitor or diagnose conditions such as cataracts, glaucoma concerns, diabetes-related eye concerns, dry eye, flashes or floaters, eye pain, infections, autoimmune-related eye issues, and other medical findings.

Vision Insurance

  • Usually helps with routine vision benefits

  • May cover routine vision exams

  • May provide benefits toward glasses or contact lenses

  • Usually does not cover medical eye conditions, diagnostic testing, monitoring, or treatment

Medical Insurance

  • Used for eye health concerns, symptoms, diagnoses, testing, monitoring, and treatment

  • May apply when the doctor finds or monitors a medical eye condition

  • Includes conditions such as cataracts, glaucoma concerns, diabetes-related eye concerns, dry eye, eye pain, flashes or floaters, infections, autoimmune-related eye issues, and other medical findings

  • Many visits in our office are billed through medical insurance because our doctors provide comprehensive medical eye care
